GOLF AT MEADOWOOD
The 18 hole, championship golf course at Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club, designed by Charles Ankrom, is situated on 190 acres; it opened in 1983.
In 2006, the course underwent a major renovation including the refurbishing of all green-side bunkers and resurfacing of all the putting greens with Champion Ultradwarf Bermuda grass (acknowledged to be among the top putting surfaces available).
Golf legend Sam Snead was the Resident Golf Pro Emeritus from 1988 until his death in 2002. During the winter months he was frequently seen out on the golf course or at the practice range giving golf tips or telling stories of his illustrious career.
Other sports legends and three other Masters Winners who have lived or played at Meadowood Golf and Tennis Club include Bernhard Langer, Ray Floyd, Patti Rizzo, Björn Borg and Bob Goalby.
Our spacious 33,000 square foot practice tee offers multiple target greens, as well as a practice bunker.
Men’s and Women’s clinics, as well as “Demo Days’ are available to try new equipment. Individual lessons are by appointment and include instruction in all facets of the game including putting, pitching, chipping and full swing.
